How can I get from place to place?
There will be transportation provided for all group outings, as well as to-and-from the airport. If you are to go out on your own, most places are within walking distance when downtown, and buses are relatively inexpensive. Uber (app-based taxi service) also operates in GR, which is a convenient way to get around.

All presentations will be in English, however there will be Spanish and Portuguese interpreters available upon request.

When will food be provided?
Delegates will have gratuitous meals during event hours. Downtown Grand Rapids offers a wide array of food options for the general public in attendance.

GR falls under the Eastern Time Zone (ET).
How is the weather?
Michigan is known for it's bizarre fluctuation in weather, though you can expect it to be quite warm in August (average of 90˚F/32˚C). We recommend to dress accordingly, for we will be walking outside.
How should I be dressed for events?
The dress code is business casual, though keep in mind there will be hot temperatures and lots of walking. Make sure you bring a bathing suit as well as a rain jacket - Michigan is full of water surprises.
If I go out on my own for food or drinks, how should I tip?
All gratuities for meals provided will be covered by us, however tipping is a general practice in the U.S. If you are to go out on your own, we suggest tipping 20% of your original bill.
